NELSON SPORTIVE

SUNDAY 28th  April 2013

At long last I am pleased to announce details of Spalding Cycling Club’s 2013 Spring Sportive.

Once again the route will travel from the Fens of South Lincolnshire into Norfolk visiting the Royal Sandringham Estate and for those seeking a longer route, the North Norfolk Coast.

The two routes on offer as part of Spaldling Cycling Club’s Sportive to be held on Sunday 28th April 2013 have now been plotted onto the Bikely website and are available for download to GPS devices.
The shorter, 58 mile route has been saved as SCC Sandringham 28 Apr 2013
The longer, 80 mile route has been called SCC Nelson Sportive 28 Apr 2013
The routes are significantly different to previous years and we have managed to find some surprisingly rolling sections which will put to rest the myth that Norfolk is flat! The other good news is that we have included a Feed Station based at the Rose and Crown in Snettisham and riders tackling the Nelson route will be able to visit the pub twice!!
It is worth mentioning that by their nature, some of the quiet country lanes in Norfolk include short sections where a large amount of gravel has been dragged across the road. Please bear this in mind when preparing for the event and considering your choice of tyres!
The event is registered with BC and entries online from the BC website are now being accepted.
We look forward to seeing you on 28th April!
